Draining the Pond

So after we got back from Lassen, the koi seemed to be less interested in food. It was hot while we were gone and we turned off the filter because the skimmer sometimes sucks air when it gets clogged. Long story short, We had a few large fish starting to look bad. The parrot plant was really overgrown and it had been a long time since we cleaned the bottom.
We got a holding tank and took out the fish and turtle, and drained the pond. They stayed in the tank for one night before we were able to refill it after removing all the fallen rocks, and scooping out tons of sludge.
The water is still a little cloudy and needs to settle, but it is all fresh water and everyone is happy to be home.
